LAOAG CITY—Another housing project for government workers, complete with a swimming pool and a clubhouse, will soon rise in this city.

Located in Brgy. 5 San Pedro, this city, the project, known as Ayuyang Residences, will consist of three low-rise condominium buildings, each with 30 units to be made available for government employees capable of paying monthly amortization.
The project, funded by Pag-IBIG in collaboration with the National Housing Authority (NHA), is also near the city’s modern transport hub that is currently still being constructed.

Evalandia Duyor, acting provincial assessor of Ilocos Norte, said the housing project is expected to be turned over by next year to eligible applicants.

“We encourage everyone to attend the orientation on the mechanics of the housing project… at the DepEd Ilocos Norte social hall from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon,” she said.

The orientation will be facilitated by representatives from NHA and Pag-IBIG.

Launched during the term of former Ilocos Norte Governor and now Senator Imee Marcos, the housing project aims to realize a simple part of the Ilocano dream to finish school and build a home for their family.

Aside from the Ayuyang Residences, another low-cost housing project is also being constructed in Brgy. Talingaan, also in this city, under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program consisting of an initial 300 low-cost housing units.

The 4PH program, launched in 2022, is a government housing program being implemented by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) in collaboration with other government agencies. It seeks to address some 6.5 million housing backlogs for the poor nationwide.

Approved applicants for this low-cost housing project will pay a minimum of PHP2,800 monthly amortization at a payment term of up to 30 years. Pag-IBIG is also providing a 5-percent subsidy to eligible applicants.
